A Thought for April

April’s birthstone is the diamond, a girl’s best friend. The zodiac signs are Aries and Taurus. It is also the month of humour but don’t be fooled on April Fools’ Day. The origins of April Fools’ Day are uncertain — celebrated every year on the 1st of April and has been for several centuries. Traditions include playing hoaxes or practical jokes on unsuspecting subjects shouting ‘April Fools’ afterwards.

Some historians believe April Fools’ Day originates from back in 1582 when France switched from the Julian calendar when the new year began on the 1st of the month, to the Gregorian Calendar. People who failed to recognise the change were called ‘April fools’ for not being aware of the new calendar. April is named after the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, and originates from Aprilis, meaning to open. So, maybe April is the time to open a book! Here are some reviews for my book SAIL AWAY:

First of a promising new crime series.  Lee Ann — FirstEdit.com

A surprisingly good find. I would liken the style of this writer to Forsyth and Archer. A. Foran — Amazon verified review.

A fast-paced action-adventure tale that doesn’t hold back in any way. Stephen Stone Book Reviewer – Pearson Media Group.

Happy reading to one and all.
