A thought for January

With Christmas over for another year and 2022 now underway, I expect some of you are feeling a little downhearted, spent out, or maybe you didn’t get the presents for which you were hoping. Those new year resolutions you made and have already broken. They are making you feel slightly depressed.

To make matters worse, we now have the onset of ‘Omicron’, the new strain of COVID-I9, feared by experts to be more dangerous than its older brother bringing lockdown restrictions back into force.

It’s January, the coldest month of the year. February is just around the corner and is no warmer. It’s that time of the year when you are at an all-time low. You need some form of stimulation. Many restrictions are still in place, affecting restaurants, cinemas, theatres and nightclubs.

So, how about getting somewhere warmer by watching ‘A Place in the Sun’ or ‘Death in Paradise’ on the T.V. to make things feel somewhat brighter. Better still, read a good book in front of a roaring log fire to generate the cosiest of atmospheres? If it’s a book your fancying, then look no further than Sail Away, the first in a series of thrillers chronicling the life of Brian Ridley.

A healthy New Year to one and all.

B.W.
